Our Process

When a part comes together.

Blow molding may be our bread and butter, but we’re far from just another shoot and ship supplier.  Our engineering and design services push us beyond the competition, as the team can apply expertise from a multitude of engineering backgrounds including: materials science, mechanical engineering, industrial engineering and computer aided design.

Engineering and design support to help develop your product from concept to production.

Product Development & Design

Design for blow molding is our core competency.  Whether you are starting with a sketch on a napkin or a 3D model and part print, our engineering team can offer the support you need. Concept validation, part and tooling design optimization – speeding product development and assuring your part exceeds end-use performance criteria.

Process simulation involves inputting data to simulate the raw material interaction with the mold, and to visualize resulting part wall thickness variation inevitable in the blow molding process. Applying this resource early on can help reduce the potential for secondary mold revisions.

We subscribe to SOLIDWORKS® and PRO/ENGINEER® CAD software platforms, and accept most any 3D files in STEP or IGES format.

Material Application Support

While most industrial blow molders don’t stray too far beyond HDPE, we’ve developed process capability with a range of basic polymers and thermoplastic engineering resins: HDPE, LDPE, LLDPE, PP, Reinforced PP, PC, ABS, PC/ABS, PC/PBT Alloys, Amorphous Polyester, TPE, EVA, PA6 and PA66, to name a few! Agri-Industrial Plastics only uses certified prime materials, unless viable recycled materials are preferred.

With over 40 years experience with material application support and working with industry-leading raw material suppliers, we can help you determine the most cost effective options for your end-use application.

Analysis & Testing

Our Engineering and Design personnel deploy the most sophisticated analytical tools and testing instruments available.

  • FEA Analysis
  • SOLIDWORKS and PRO/ENGINEER
  • Blow Molding Process Simulation
  • Low Temperature Drop Impact Testing
  • Burst Pressure Test Chamber
  • Rotary Microtome
  • Laser Scanner
  • Pull Testing

Mold/Tooling Design Engineering

Let us apply our 40-plus years of experience to help you in the design and specification of blow mold tooling and any required finishing equipment, to ensure your parts can be made to exacting specifications, time after time.

  • Cut aluminum blow molds
  • Drilling, boring and trimming fixtures
  • 6-axis robotic trimming stations
  • Post mold cooling fixtures
  • Hot plate welding

Regulatory Compliance

Our engineering department has been actively cooperating and consulting with the US EPA since emissions compliance standards affecting SORE applications began taking shape over a decade ago. We can help you wade through regulatory compliance and certification process and stay ahead of evolving requirements to ensure your fuel tank assembly will perform throughout the service life of your vehicle.

We also carry our own design-based EPA certifications that may apply to your tank design – just give us a call for more details!
